Dearest Mother,

Just a few lines to let you know that I'm feeling fine and hope that you are the same.

We got back from bivouac last night or rather this morn. at 1:30 A.M.

Mother, when you receive this letter, I'll be out on 3 wks practice maneuvers with the 84 div. See the 84 div is also here in Camp Howze with the 86th div. The 86th is at one end of camp and the 84th at the other end.

The 84th is going out on 3 wks. maneuvers at 6:30 tonight and out of Co. K there were two officers one sgt. and two pvts. and I'm one of the pvts that were picked. The maneuver will be held here in Texas somewhere and when they're over we come back to co. K.

Mother, don't ans. this letter till you hear from me again, because my address may be different. As soon as you get this letter, call Rosie and tell her not to write till she hears from me again. It might be 3 wks till I can write and it might not, so don't write till you hear from me again. I don't have time to write to Rosie tonight so you tell her what I said.

Well I got to leave now mom so I'll close with lots of love to you daddy and the kids.

   Your loving Son,

"Jimmy"
