Loose Letter, no envelope.

Sept. 16, 1943
Thur. nite, 7:30

Dearest Mother,

Just a few lines to let you know that I'm feeling fine and praying that you are the same.

I got back from bivouac Tues nite. We walked out to our bivouac area which was 18 mi. away and ran our problem which started Mon. afternoon and ended Tues afternoon. Tues nite at 10:30 we were back in camp. We rode back in trucks which was a good break.

All that we did yesterday, was clean up our equipment and scrub and clean the barracks.

Today, we had bayonet drill and some lessons in Jiu Jitsu.

Well mother, nothing more to say so I'll close with lots of love to you mother dear, daddy and the kids.

   Your loving Son,

"Jimmy"
