Dearest Mother,

Just a few lines to let you know that I'm feeling fine and hope that you are the same.

We got back to camp about 4:30 and as soon as we got in our barracks we had to start cleaning our equipment. Mine's all washed and cleaned now. Almost everyone is going to town tonight. I'm hoping that my buddy comes over tonight, then we might go to the P.X. I have half a dollar and that will at least buy some cigarettes and few bottles of pop.

Well mother, I guess this is all for now, so I'll close with lots of love to you mother dear, daddy and the kids.

   Your loving Son,

"Jimmy"
P.S.

Please don't worry about me mother because I'm O.K. and tell daddy not to worry because I'm feeling fine. God bless you mother and keep you safe for me.
