Dearest Mother,

Here I am back again letting you know that I'm O.K. and in the best of health and hoping that all at home are the same.

There's not much new to write about mother except that my arm feels a lot better mother. There's only one thing wrong mother and that's that I don't have any feeling in my little finger. The doctor said that the nerve was cut but in time it would be O.K. so I guess there's nothing to worry about.

We had a P.X. again today mother. I got 5 pks of cigarettes, candy, gum and two Coca Cola which really tasted good.

Well mother, I'll close hoping that this letter finds you all in the best of health and with love to you mother dear, daddy and the kids.

   Your loving Son,

"Jimmy"
P.S.

Mother, let me know if you ever received the $130 I sent you and also the purple heart that I got for being wounded.

   Love, Son,

"Jim"

Supplemental Notes, Quotes, and Anecdotes:

Purple Heart Medal and Lapel Pin
