Pauline R Misitano, 66, of 1945 SW 4th Ave, Fort Lauderdale, FL, formerly of Altoona,
died unexpectedly at 6:30 pm Sunday, April 6, 1986, in her home.
Miss Misitano retired from the U.S. Government in March 1985, after 44 years service.
She had worked as a secretary in the Pentagon, Washington, DC, and at the U.S. Air Force
Academy, Colorado Springs, CO.
She was born October 19, 1919, in Altoona, the daughter of Frank and Francesca (Mollica)
Misitano.
Surviving are six brothers and sisters: Philip, Vincent, Joseph and Thomas of Altoona,
Frank of Winlock WA, and Grace Lotti of Fort Lauderdale, with whom she resided.
Aunt Pauline was a super kind and gentle person, extremely bright and witty and quick to engage us
toddlers visiting our grandparents' house with interesting conversation. We learned of and were amazed
by her disciplined diet that seemed to us to consist solely of various vegetable juices, but of course
that has to be selective memory on my part from too long a time ago.
It was also very impressive the way she selflessly uprooted herself from an easy life after retirement
to move to Fort Lauderdale to live with and lend assistance to her sister Grace who had fallen ill at the time.
