Post War Years - What Happened in the Decade or Two after the End of the War:


Tom Misitano

After the war, Tom continued to live in the home of his parents. He became employed in the Pennsylvania Railroad Shops as an acetylene welder.

Tom enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps on February 16, 1951. He subsequently saw action in the Korean War, and remained in the Marine Corps for several years.

In February of 1955 Tom married Kathleen (Coke) Knicely in Altoona. They had three boys and three girls, and lived in a house next door to the Misitano Family home at 1500 16th Avenue. He was subsequently employed as an iron-worker, doing steel construction on buildings in Altoona and nearby communities.
